The Sweetest Juice
“No one wants to create a memory. We would all rather keep each moment if sweet going. We never get that chance though.
For those that experience summer and hot weather as a temporary relief in life, all your memories come alive and have more meaning. Like samples that you hear, each smell, taste, sound or view brings back sweetness and love. Just like in the 80`s and 90`s when sampling was a revolution of reinterpretation. New summer memories. Otomo Yoshihide in his early period created numerous sampling albums creating sweet juice from mundane things. Things from all walks of the city scape. The more we experience though the deeper the well of our internal cities becomes. We get more downtown sohos, uptown areas, locals only areas and twisted gardens.
This playlist is not a playlist. Itʼs a collection of memories that I never wanted. Like listening to Otomo Yoshihide`s Night Before the Death of the Sampling Virus for the 1st time and not knowing HOW to listen to it. Feeling shocked at Autechre`s Feed1 despite being a fan for years. Discovering Milford Graves live and listening to the New York Art Quartet`s live cd months after seeing the concert for real. Feeling relief on repeat with the amazing summer anthem Lemonade. Each work is synced to my existence and hopefully now yours.”
